Over 12 months old is the period when a baby can enjoy a variety of foods, mothers should add half a teaspoon of fish sauce to their child’s diet or half the amount of mother’s season-to-taste. For weaning infants from 6 to 8 months old, it is advised that adding only a scanty amount of fish sauce (by dipping a chopstick into the fish sauce) is enough for them to get used to the new taste. When the baby enters 9 to 11 months of age, 2 to 3 drops of “Tin” fish sauce for children is acceptable.
